DEXTER

.
The film that I looked at was ‘Dexter’. The opening used a variety of conventions to give the audience a taste of what the film is about .The scene starts off with a mosquito on the characters arm this would give a sense of danger and mystery since the audience couldn’t see the character’s face and we do see it in the second frame its only half his face. The first thing that I realised when watching the opening is that it didn’t show the productions company or logo, I think this is because it wasn’t as well known as other production company example Warner bros or 20 fox century.

Throughout the film opening we hear a sound track it sounds Mexican, its fast but low key this could imply that the film is scary so it would be a thriller or a horror film. Also to indicate that it’s a horror the font that is used to write the title ‘Dexter’ and the credits is in bold, capitals red font which looks like blood.

The opening of the film ‘Dexter’ was very detailed and slow an example was when the man was shaving, the camera zoomed in and watched him shave. It was interesting because when something happened it felt like it was happening to me like when he cut himself, it made me shiver and the audience may feel the same
