In the film, I enjoyed the fact that after seeing a badly abused child running out of a building, they use a jump cut and go straight to another scene of an ordinary family sitting at a breakfast table. Apart from the amazing plot, the family shown at the beginning is what inspired me most and I think was key to creating a well executed thriller/horror. The use of a generic nuclear family having their breakfast in a modern house deceives the audience into thinking that they're an ordinary family. It also creates an intrigued mood to why they would used a jump cut to this scene. I also like the idea of using the important, peaceful breakfast time in the morning to create destruction, and a shotgun rampage of Anna intruding. It seems like the family itself as well as the audience are oblivious to what is happening beneath their house, as well as not appearing to be capable of torture which could be why this normal family has been used.

Ideas and Inspiration - MARTYRS
The other day, I'd watched a film called Martyrs (2008) which was of genres, horror, thriller and drama. This film gave me inspiration by its plot and deceiving characters within it. Martyrs is about a girl named, Anna and her friend Lucie of which Anna was kidnapped and tortured as a child seeking revenge on the people who had done it to her. In the process, the Anna commits suicide by having visions of a creature killing her which then lead to Lucie being captured and tortured in the same process Anna was.
